What the World Needs Now
Hi there, friends!
This is Nikki, back for another Articulate newsletter and, this month, love is in the air! February 14th has long been celebrated as a day of romance, commonly expressed with chocolates, flowers, love letters–you know the deal. But as St. Valentine's Day quickly approaches, we wanted to highlight all types of love. Whether it's romance, friendship, family, or something else entirely, love is a universal experience that, like art, can help us to better understand ourselves and others. And hey, if you're heading into February without a valentine, a brand new Canon Rebel camera could ease the pain (keep reading for details on how to win one).
WHAT'S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT?
FLORIOGRAPHY: SAYING IT WITH FLOWERS
The language of flowers is a lost art, but can still convey some of our most powerful emotions.
WHEN ARTISTS LET US DOWN
Though our relationships with celebrities exist mostly in our heads, the pain they sometimes cause is very real.
OTHER STUFF WE Love
This month at Articulate, we're gearing up for Valentine's Day by celebrating everything we love. We're rewatching the classic romantic comedy, Groundhog Day (with a box of chocolates to snack on, of course), listening to the seminal 1963 jazz album, Johnny Coltrane and Johnny Hartman, and reading Shannon Hale's The Actor and The Housewife. Hale is an exceptionally talented writer of young adult fiction, who may or may not be appearing in Articulate's upcoming season. Stay tuned...
Until Next Time
Don't worry, I didn't forget about the aforementioned Canon Rebel camera that's up for grabs. Participate in our #LifeMeetsArt contest by March 19th and you'll be entered for a chance to win. And don't forget to follow us on social media for all of Articulate's updates!
